Meet Colin Johansen

My passion for fitness came from playing soccer competitively for most of my life. It taught me to push myself mentally and physically — and I loved sharing that with those on my team and in my life. I want to share what I learned through my athletic, training, and coaching experience that will empower my clients to become the best version of themselves.

This isn't about a quick fix. It's about starting where you are and building simple fitness habits over time to make lasting change — not just losing weight to gain it back or getting in shape only to lose it. I start small and build this into your life. Sustainable lifetime habits over quick fixes.

I focus on people, growth, and improvement — not perfection. I'm not here to make you feel shame, pressure, or guilt. Just to be honest about your habits and actions and help you improve them day by day, week by week.

Free 45-Minute Session

We meet in person. I get to know you, your fitness history, and your goals. We do a body composition scan, movement assessment, and I walk you through exactly how I'd train you.

Your Custom Plan

I build a training and nutrition plan around your goals, schedule, and lifestyle. Not a template — a real plan based on our conversation and your individual assessment results.

Train Together

We meet once or more weekly in focused sessions where I coach your form, track your progress, and adjust as needed. Between sessions, you follow your personalized program on the TrueCoach app and work on positive habits.

Build Lasting Habits

Every other week we check in with measurements and body scans to make sure we're moving the needle. Over time you build habits that stick — so results last.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I've never worked out before?
Strength training is the most effective way to get fit and stay fit for the long term. Many of my clients started from zero — you don't have bad habits to unlearn. I'll meet you where you are and progress at a pace that makes sense for your body.
Where do sessions take place?
I train at several gyms in the Sandy, Draper, Lehi, and Salt Lake areas. I'm also happy to come to your home or apartment complex gym — wherever is reasonably convenient for both of us. I also offer online training for those who prefer to work out on their own schedule.
What does a typical session look like?
We start by warming up, then I walk you through the day's workout — explaining each movement, demonstrating form, and coaching you through it. I track everything in the TrueCoach app so you can see your progress. Every other week we start with a 10-minute body scan and check-in to make sure we're on track with your goals.
Do I need to follow a strict diet?
Not at all. I take a habit-based approach to nutrition — we start with an assessment of where you are now, then build a plan with real food choices around your goals. No meal plans you'll abandon in a week. We meet bi-weekly to review what went well and what to improve. Small, sustainable changes that fit your lifestyle.
I'm really busy with work. How do I fit this in?
My job is to adapt this to fit easily into your current life and demands. We'll start with a couple days of 30–60 minutes weekly and I'll show you how much you can achieve with that little commitment. Most of my clients are business owners and executives — I get it.
Why is personal training so expensive? I could just go to the gym.
You definitely can — and if you feel confident doing that, it won't offend me at all. My job is to make you as efficient and effective as possible. We directly measure your progress and build a program aligned exactly with your goals. My experience is that clients who work with me see results faster and maintain those results through strength training, accountability, and nutrition habits implemented over time.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
I ask for 24 hours advance notice to cancel or reschedule so that you respect my time as I respect yours. I understand things happen and will do my best to accommodate if something comes up.
Can I get just nutrition coaching without training?
Absolutely. Nutrition is just as important as exercise. I offer standalone nutrition coaching that includes a full food list with macros calculated, bi-weekly check-ins with measurements, and adjustments based on your progress. It's $200/month individual or $300/month for couples and families. I'm happy to help on just the nutrition side and let you handle the rest.
